1970: Ex Chairman Mr. Sitaram Gupta started distribution of products of 4 decorative laminates manufacturers

1972: Started marketing laminates from factory called Visnagar Taluka Audhyogik Sahakari Mandali Limite under brand name Modlam.

1980: Set up a factory named Viral Laminates Pvt. Ltd in Ahmedabad, Gujarat to produce laminates in 9’x3’ size.

1981: Ex chairman’s son Mr. Shashikant Gupta joined Viral Laminates.

1984: SUNDEK was incorporated.

1986: Mr. Shashikant Gupta set up another laminate factory in the name of Uttam Laminates Pvt. Ltd in Kolkata.

1987: Sundek factory was set up

1988: Mr. Shashikant Gupta returned to Sundek unit and started looking after the over-all operations.

1992-1994: Received highest exporter award from PLEX Council, India.

1995: FIRA International certified conformance of Sundek product quality to British Quality Standard BS EN 438.

1996: After death of Mr. Sitaram Gupta, his son Mr. Shashikant Gupta became Managing Director and took over all charges of the organization.

2002: Sundek adopted ISO-9001

2005: MD’s son Mr. Anish Gupta joined business and started looking after production and R&D.

2007: Mr. Anish Gupta became CEO
