Quality Standards

To attain the highest standard in quality, papers are specially selected, impregnated with melamine and phenolic resins and then pressed and hardened together under high temperature and pressure to ensure better bonding. A special finish makes the laminates water and scratch resistant. Over and above, the unique Anti-Ageing Formula gives the laminates high resistance to various kinds of wear and tear.

Quality Standards: With a client base spread across the globe, Sundek quality is truly international. The Furniture Industries Research Association (FIRA) of UK has tested and found Sundek laminate quality as equal to or exceeding British European Standard "BS EN 438". Sundek laminates meet ISI, American NEMA LD -3, other international standards. They are made in conformity to IS : 2046. Also, the electrical insulation sheets conform to IS : 2036, grade P1. Sundek is also an ISO 9001 -2000 certified company. The laboratory conducts tests at each stage to ensure superior quality.

Raw Materials: Each raw material is thoroughly tested as per required standards and is accepted only if it meets the same.

Goods in Process: Elaborate process norms have been fixed in each stage of the manufacturing process. The goods are tested at the end of each process to check whether they meet the process norms.

Finished Product: Samples from each and every batch of production are subjected to strict quality tests like.

Boiling Water Test: The laminate is kept in boiling water for 2 hours in order to check whether it has become a homogenous mass that will not delaminate for a lifetime.

Dry Heat Resistance Test: The laminate is subjected to indirect heat temperature of 1800 C for 20 minutes by a cup of hot oil. This checks the laminate's resistance to heat on a day to day basis.

Surface Wear Test: Emerypaper with specific weight is rubbed against the laminate in a circular motion. A machine records the number of circles a laminate can endure before it gives in to wear and tear.

Scratch Resistance Test: A diamond point is pushed over the laminate to check how resistant it is to scratches and whether it is tough enough to face daily usage.

Stain Resistance Test: A variety of chemicals are spilled over and kept for a long time on the surface of the laminate to make sure that it is easy to clean after staining.

Crack Resistance Test: The laminate is fixed on a stand at an angle. It is then kept in a heated oven at 1800 C for 24 hours to check if laminate cracks in extreme temperatures.

Steam Resistance: The laminate is directly exposed to hot steam for one hour and tested for its colour fastness.

Ball Impact Resistance Test: A solid ball is thrown on to the laminate with force to check whether the laminate cracks if anything falls on it.

It is only after the laminates clear all these tests that they are sent out to the market. Sundek warrants that its products are devoid of any manufacturing defects and meet the promised quality standards.

Social Commitements
We are committed to a clean and green environment: Sundek is committed to the cause of a clean and green environment. We have introduced many designs that are similar to natural veneers and wood patterns in order to restrict the use of wood and hence, restrict destruction of forests.
